The following book celebrates a woman known by her moniker, "Angel Agnes", who has been largely forgotten by history. She was a teenager who spent most of her life in northern Louisiana. When yellow fever started infecting the citizens of Shreveport, Agnes was leading the medical team who helped them; a courageous feat at the time since a vaccine for the disease had yet to be invented.
