"Brandon of the Engineers" is a brilliant novel by Harold Edward Bindloss, an author of many adventure novels set in western Canada and some of West Africa and England. Every one of his novels included elements from his personal experience, whether as a seaman, a dock worker, a farmer, or a planter. Although most of his novels follow the topic of discovering new lands and changing reality, "Brandon of the Engineers" is about discovering new feelings and changing the way of thinking. It tells the story of a scrupulous engineer who suddenly falls in love with a lady whose mind is so illogical to him. And now, he has to reassess his worldview and learn to love.
