George Bethune English was an American adventurer, diplomat, soldier, and convert to Islam. As a convert from Christianity, he was uniquely qualified to examine the religion. This book, written in the early 19th century, is among the first to seriously challenge that assertion in a detailed manner. It examines in depth the textual claims made in the New Testament for the fulfillment by Jesus of Old Testament prophecies, and offers substantive and serious counter-claims that cannot be lightly or easily dismissed.
