It was for luck on his hunting trip that he took Dafydd with him.

They rode from the fields into the Greenwood. Then deeper into the Mirkwood - the dense forest.

They had seen the tracks and tufts of boar hair but no sign of the beast itself. In the forest the great aged trees of oak and ash stood high together, with green holly beneath.
