'Under Handicap' by Jackson Gregory is a thrilling Wild West novel that takes place in a vast, dry, and threatening desert. The novel begins by introducing us to two young men traveling on the Overland Limited, who are surrounded by luxury, comfort, and companionship within the Pullman smoking-car. Despite this, one of the men, who is pale and anemic-looking, can't stand the sameness of the desert and complains constantly. His friend, who is physically big and good-looking, but not very determined, tries to calm him down. However, when they reach their destination, the pale young man is suddenly kidnapped by unknown enemies.
