13 YEAR OLD GIRL RAPED IN PRISON BY IOF SOLDIERS. A friend of mine lives in Jenin on the West Bank. During one of the raids of the IOF on Jenin, his 13 year old daughter Layan threw a rock at one of the IOF's armored vehicles. They arrested her and placed her under "administrative detention", aka without charging her with anything. They starved her for 5 days and gang-raped her both vaginally and anally, so brutally that she was rupture from front to back. They released her this evening by dropping her off at a checkpoint near Jenin. Her father drove her to a hospital immediately where she is now undergoing emergency surgery to fix the ruptures in her lower body. And people have the audacity to say Hamas is evil?

Layan is not the only young girl who got this "treatment" from the IOF. They told her that if she would speak to the media about what happened to her in prison, they would do the same thing to her 9 year old sister.

The very existence of settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories violates international humanitarian law and is a war crime. Despite multiple UN resolutions, Israel has continued to appropriate Palestinian land and support at least 600,000 settlers living in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Until 2005, more than 9,000 Israeli settlers were illegally residing in Gaza.

Settler attacks on defenceless residents in the West Bank have been on the rise ever since the commencement of the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip on 7 October. Human rights organisations active in Israel report that the number of attacks, some of which have been deadly, exceeds 200. While the international community focuses on the ongoing war, settlers exploit heightened emotions from the Hamas attack to further their objectives on the ground and resolve lingering issues, some of which are still pending in courts. Settlers have been responsible for the deaths of at least seven Palestinians across the occupied West Bank since the start of the conflict in Gaza.
