Valentines Day - Eve McAllister's least favorite holiday - and the candy grams are on sale. When a couple of popular girls target a little nobody on campus for a cruel prank, Eve McAllister decides it is the last straw.

Having been a target of bullying herself, she decides it is up to her and her best friend Jane Bennetti to stop them from causing real damage, even if it means going to the high school Valentine's Dance stag.

Her ability as a half-imp to hear the naughty thoughts of others gives her an advantage against bullies. But being half-vampire also allows her to hear the thundering hearts around her - forcing her to discover something she did not want to know about her own best friend.
